Coffee Crawl: Dallas

I contemplated naming this post, "The Leann and Lesley show. Photographed by Kellogg with special appearance by Finley." Then I thought, hmmm, better not. But for real, I have lots of pictures to share with you and there are a lot of me and Lesley. I met Lesley in 2010 when I came to visit Kell in Texas for the first time in like a decade. We bonded instantly and have best friends ever since. We are a lot alike...she is just cooler than me. She goes to concerts all the time and has traveled around the world. She loves coffee more than I do so I knew she would be the perfect mate to invite to this adventure.

Initially we had a list of six or seven coffee shops to hit up, but we only made it to three. It was hot, we were hungry, and all that caffeine hit us harder than we (really just me) expected. Dallas has a lot of sweet little local coffee shops. Local coffee is the best coffee. It is not just about the coffee. The atmosphere and the experience is equally as cool.

We started in the Bishop Arts District at this cute little shop called The Wild Detectives.
It is in a house, and filled with books.

We all got lattes with simple syrup. They were delicious.
Lesley got the prettiest piece of toast I have ever seen.

We walked wandered around the district a bit and found some other shops to try in the future, took in the adorableness of this area and found a good wall to take some photos with.

This photo epitomizes Lesley and I.

Lesley was my Iphone photographer and creative assistant for the day. She had some really good ideas for photos. That's why I keep her around.

Our second stop was Ascension Coffee.
The cold brew here was on point!
This place was packed full of people which was not the best for a toddler. Lucky for us there was a nice area outside to enjoy our brew and keep little dude happy.

When we know Kellogg is taking a picture...

And when we don't...

Our Final stop of the day was Method Coffee.
They had the coolest little coffee appetizer, which is actually called a "flight".
We got a cortado, some cold brew, kombucha, and an espresso.
Then we died. Not really, but we did get a little crazy.
Honestly, I have never been affected by caffeine before, so this was new.
I do recommend sharing drinks or getting some decaf if you ever decide to do a coffee crawl.

baby jail.

Trying to get Finley to cooperate for a photo. He is hit or miss.

Our Chauffeur and Photographer for the day.

This wall is around the corner of Houndstooth Coffee.
Another great coffee shop that is based in Austin. Just down the street from Method.
We did not get coffee here because we were starving and had reached out limit for the day.

We were trying to give Kellogg some kind of directions here.

We had lunch in West Elm. Another adorable spot in Dallas.
I thought this was a cute reminder that there is kindness in the world.

West Elm is in the process of adding lots of art to the walls in the area. I have seen this wall pop up on instagram a few times and was determined to find it.
I talked about it the whole day, and was so happy when we found it.
It did not disappoint.

I told you there were a lot of pictures.
I hope you enjoyed them.
We should probably have our own TV show.
 The End.
