We ate lots of cheese dip, watermelon and soapapilla cheesecake throughout the game and then afterwords we decided to take Finley to his happy place, the park. We walked there, played for about 15 minutes, basically melted in the heat, regretted not driving, and slowly trudged our way back to the house and air conditioning. It was a lovely day to spend with family. It included pretty much all of our favorite things.
Sunday we decided to take our adventures to Ft. Worth. We spent a small amount of time in Burleson before heading over into the city. It was hot, but full of fun murals on the wall to take photos in front of. We met our friends Hannah and Emily who live in the most adorable condo in downtown Ft. Worth. It seriously is full of details and so perfectly decorated. It looks like a display room in IKEA mixed with the flair of Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.
We went to Torchy's tacos along with the rest of the town. It was so busy and crowded and we had to wait a long time to grab a table but it was worth it. Kevin has not stopped talking about their tacos since and I am day dreaming about their breakfast tacos myself. We decided to cool down with the famous Steel City Pops. I went for classic vanilla bean which I think is a PERFECT flavor. Leann had the sweet tea which was equally delicious. If you are ever in that area go check them out. There is usually a long line but it moved so quickly for us.
Kevin and I had dinner with Leann that night and it was such a treat to have some quality time with my sister. I always love spending time with them. It's when I find it the easiest to be myself and I feel like we all get funnier when we're around each other. The next morning we got up and had fried chicken together before we hit the road.
Finley was clearly devastated to see me go.
It was a great weekend all around. We got to spend time with family and relax, see some of the city, eat good food, but it wasn't super exhausting like most trips. I always think I could live in Texas when I go visit and I know a few people who wouldn't disagree. I am counting down until the family gets to be back together again!
We also had some time to take some photos with our friend, Kallan, while I was in town. Can't wait to share the rest of those soon.
Life's A Peach,
Tori
