The pumpkin patch I picked out for us happened to have a corn maze as well. Along with games, a petting zoo, and some yummy fair like food trucks set up. We chose a combo where we could go through the corn maze and also pick out a baby pumpkin to take home with us. We started out in the corn maze and of course we went the wrong way. It was fun exploring and Kevin led the way most of the time. I can't even imagine going through that thing at night.
After our quick trip through the corn maze we waited for the hayride to the pumpkin patch. It was a nice little ride and it was fun listening to the little kids talk with their parents about the pumpkins. They took us to a place that had all these gorgeous pumpkins laid out and places to take photos and there was also the actual patches which were for different sizes. We were restricted to the mini ones and I will admit that a lot of them had become pretty yuck but we ended up with two cute little babies. Kevin decided to name them "Pie" and "Spice Latte" and now they have been happily living on our porch.
We spent about a half hour with the pumpkins with the other families before the tractor ride took us back to the main part of the farm. We ended our visit with a funnel cake which happened to be our dessert first treat before we left for lunch. There was even a lady selling painted rocks & pumpkins and I found the cutest watermelon rock which will eventually make its way to my desk at work and be the best paper weight ever.
We had the BEST time. I loved it. It was such a fun fall inspired bonding experience and a great way to celebrate Kevin's birthday. I hope we continue to go back as a new autumn tradition.
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. The colors, the weather, the fashion. Being in Kansas the weather is anything but predictable but its fun to finally live in an area with different seasons.
What about you guys? Any favorite fall traditions? Is there something we should try out next year?
It's November y'all. And while many people are tossing out their pumpkins for Christmas trees I plan to soak up the last weeks of Autumn and enjoy one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving! Hope you guys all have a great week. It gets dark now at 5:30 PM. WHAT?? How do we NEVER get used to it??
LIFE'S A PEACH,
Tori
