Leann's 2015 Recap

What a year. 2015 was "one for the books," but one of those books you don't really want to read the whole thing again. You just want to see your favorite parts of the book turned into a movie. Am I right? There were lots of great things that happened. Lots of celebration, but it was one of those years where the lows just keep you down. We grieved with death, but also celebrated new life.

We started out on a rough note. My husband was laid off from what we thought would be our forever job. Our feelings were hurt and our optimism was low. We like working for camps. That is what we were doing when we fell in love and it's what we want to do until we cannot work anymore. We struggled the whole year to find a job in camp, really find jobs at all. We moved 4 times, living with my parents and then Kell's. We are so thankful for parents who love us (really Finley the most) and took care of us while we were trying to get back on our feet. Towards the end of the year we found good jobs for the same company. Really, the jobs were great, the pay was great, our co-workers were great, but it wasn't camp. Just when we settled with the fact that it might take way longer to get back to the camp world, an opportunity popped up we ended the year settling into our new home at Camp Eagle. Thank goodness that story had a happy ending right?

I didn't even realize all of the adventure I was able to have this year until I started writing about it.

It was the year of marriage! Kell and I had the opportunity to be apart of some of our best friends weddings, including my oldest sister (Princess Peach). I have always loved weddings, but they are even better when you get to celebrate people you really love. I have also made new habit of gifting hair and make-up to some brides and bridal parties. I am no professional, but I have had so much fun and have learned a lot (thanks youtube).

My little sister and one of my best friends became moms.
Holding babies is my specialty.

We celebrated Finley's First birthday, and my golden birthday.

And I actually got to travel a lot more than I realized. I was able to go to Kansas, Virginia, and Georgia (3 times!). Also, my sisters came to Texas a few time and my best friends were able to come celebrate Finley's first year. We made so many great memories and took so many fantastic photos. It was hard to choose which ones to share with y'all.

And we started our journey with this blog along with me becoming editor-in-chief of The Sunshine Magazine. These two opportunities have both been a challenge and a reward and I cannot wait to see them develop in the next year.

Oh did I mention we rang in the new year at Urgent Care? We've got a very sick little boy on our hands, but at least I can get all the cuddles I want.

2015, you were a year. Peach out, and hello twenty-sixteen.
