I Shrank My Dress

How are you guys doing this winter? Well, some days it's winter and other days it's Spring and apparently we are getting a taste of Summer this weekend. Typical, weather, right? I will say one of the hardest parts about moving to a state with actual seasons has been adjusting to building a wardrobe for the colder weather. I still don't think I have gotten that much better at it but I have improved with my layering. As you have probably noticed I have been wearing a lot of LuLaRoe lately. On top of pattern mixing, one of my favorite things about the company is so many consultants layer the tops over dresses. That is one of my go to tricks and if you remember what I called my "signature style" when this blog first started. The LLR tops I have have easily mixed into my current wardrobe and work great for layering over dresses.

Speaking of the dress I'm wearing, I shrunk it. It was this long flowy dress I had scored on clearance at Torrid and worn one time. I washed it and apparently it shrunk in the dryer. I noticed this when I put it on and it hit above the knee. At first I was worried I ruined the dress but it turns out, the new length and fit are actually more my style and more flattering for my body. It ended up being a win win. So what I originally thought was going to be an outfit that looked like a top & a midi skirt turned into a top & a skater skirt.

Outfit Details: Top: LuLaRoe Classic Tee// Dress: Torrid// Leggings: LuLaRoe// Cardigan: Target// Boots: ModCloth

I've been feeling more myself lately when it comes to the outfits I put together on the weekend. Once I put this outfit on, I knew it was all me. These boots were ones I bought for my wedding and I have worn them so much since that day they have been a great investment! One of the best parts about this outfit is that once it warms up, I can remove the leggings and cardigan from this look and have one that's fit for Spring or Summer.

I need to confess to y'all that my blog photographer is currently my phone on a tripod with a bluetooth remote in my hand. I'm hoping this is the year I'm more adventurous and have a friend take outfit photos in cool spots around town.

So here's a shout out to layering tee's over dresses and warmer weather in the winter time. It's done wonders for my style and confidence in my clothing choices lately.

& also a shout out to the girl who walked past our house while I was taking these photos and didn't look at me like I was weird. You da real, MVP.

Life's a Peach,
Tori
